3RD ORGANIZATION OF ISLAMIC COOPERATION (OIC) MEMBER STATES CONFERENCE ON MEDIATION
Hosted by Turkey, the 3rd Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Member States Conference on Mediation held in Istanbul.
Underlining the unbearable human tragedy in Syria, Minister of Foregin Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu pointed out the need for "preventive diplomacy" and "peaceful resolution of conflicts" in his opening speech at the 3rd Organization of Islamic Cooperation Member States Conference on Mediation.
After the opening speech of Çavuşoğlu, the High Representative of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations, Miguel Moratinos made a presentation at the conference.
In his presentation, Moratinos stressed the importance of diplomacy and mediation in resolving international conflicts, also preventing conflicts.

Delivering the openning speech in the 3rd Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Member States Conference on Mediation, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu reminded the unbearable human tradegy occuring in Syria.
During the day-long conference, several thematic sessions were held on various aspects of mediation, avoidance of disputes and resolution of conflicts. Besides, long-term international conflicts including Jammu and Kashmir dispute were also discussed.
Along with the other speakers, the High Representative of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations, Miguel Moratinos also gave a speech.
