CALEB EWAN WINS STAGE 6!

Australian Caleb Ewan from Belgium's Lotto Soudal won the sixth stage of the 57th Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey.

 

 

Organized by the Turkish Cycling Federation under the auspices of the Presidency, the 204.6 kilometer Edremit-Eceabat stage has been passed on the sixth day of the Tour of Turkey. 157 cyclists from 25 teams participated in the stage.

 

 

In the stage, which started in front of the Sarikiz Statue in the Akçay Neighborhood of Edremit district, which offers thermal water and mountain tourism options in Balıkesir, the cyclists passed through Altinoluk and entered the provincial border of Canakkale. Leaving Ayvacik and Ezine districts behind, the athletes crossed the 1915 Canakkale Bridge at the 149th kilometer and changed continents.

 

 

Proceeding from the Presidency of Canakkale Wars Gallipoli Historical Site and the Monument to Respect Mehmetcik, cyclists completed the 6th stage of the tour, which was organized for the 57th time, at the 57th Infantry Regiment Martyrdom.

 

 

The end of the stage, which requires climbing in the last meters, was again the scene of the struggle of the sprinters. Caleb Ewan of Belgium, who occupied a good place in the last moments, took the first place with a timing of 4 hours and 54 minutes. With this win, Ewan achieved 2 stage victorie sin this year and 4 stage victories in general, within his experience of Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey.

 

 

Belgian Jasper Philipsen from Belgium's Alpecin-Fenix team came in second and Dutch Danny van Poppel from Germany's Bora-Hansgrohe team came in third.
