Austrian rider of Bora-Hansgrohe (Germany), Felix Grossschartner won the 5th stage of the 55th Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey (TOUR 2019).

Although it was scheduled 164.1 kilometers, the finish of the Bursa-Kartepe stage was reduced 4 kilometers due to adverse weather conditions. Grossschartner won first place at this stage with 4 hours 17 minutes and 13 seconds.

Italian Valerio Conti of BAE Emirates (UAE) team came in second and Astana (Kazakhstan) team's Eritrean Merhawi Kudus finished third after riders had to climb the last 12 kilometers of the "Queen Stage" under windy and rainy weather conditions.

Being 19 seconds ahead of his closest rival heading into the final stage, 25-year-old Austrian rider thus took over the Turquoise Jersey from his team-mate, Irish Sam Bennett.
